The Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, says the remaining two members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will soon defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abdullahi, who said this yesterday in Lafia, said all arrangements had been concluded for the two members – representing Akwanga-West and Doma-South – Peter Umbuchu and Muhammed Okpede, respectively, to join the APC.

“We have concluded every discussion with them and reached an understanding. We are now only planning to finalise and fix a date for their defection,” the speaker added.

Abdullahi said PDP had five members when the assembly was inaugurated in 2015, but that three of them left the party early this year because they were attracted to the APC by the development strides of the government.

He restated the determination of the assembly to continue to support the good policies and programmes of Governor Umaru Al-Makura for the development of the state.

It would be recalled that Godiya Akwashiki, Nassarawa-Eggon West; Moluku Aga, Nassarawa-Eggon East; and Muhammed Alkali, Lafia North, recently defected to the APC from the PDP.
