Addressing a news conference at the NUP Secretariat in Abeokuta on Tuesday, the state chairman, Chief Olujimi Odukoya, said among the demands was the request for payment of gratuity of the retired primary school teachers and local government retirees from 2011 to date.

"Payment of monthly pension of retired primary school teachers and retired local government staff as at when due.

"Re-instatement of the scrapped Joint Ad-hoc Action Committee of Local Government (JAAC) of Bureau of Local Government Pension.

“Removal of Local Government Pension payment from the Accountant General Office.

"Demand for the full payment of gratuity according to the regulation guiding the defined benefit Pension scheme, i.e reverse from B.R.T payment.

"Demand for harmonization of pension, demand for implementation of 33.4 percent increase in pension and re-instatement of the names of pensioners yanked out of the federal payment voucher."

The pensioners accused the state government "of feeling indifferent to most of the problems confronting state pensioners in Ogun State," Odukoya said.
