The police in Sokoto have arrested five suspects with illicit drugs at different locations in the state.
The command’s spokesman, Ibrahim Abaras, who confirmed this, said one Musa Mohammed of Raymond village was arrested with 100 wraps of weed suspected to be Indian hemp and 170 tabs of Diazepam. He said Husseini Zayyanu and Tanimu Uda were arrested at Tashar Marka with two sacks and 10 black polythene bags of dried leaves.
Abaras added that one Abu Sufyanu Ibrahim from Kebbi State was arrested with six large cartons of dangerous drugs suspected to be Tramadol tablets while Abubakar Bala was arrested with 15 bottles of Tutolin syrup.
He said the suspects would be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation.
