The Gombe State Police Command said it has arrested four people that allegedly abducted a nurse working with the state government about two months ago.
Mr Ephraim Ajuji, a Secretary of a Cottage Hospital in Hina town of Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area of the state, was abducted by unidentified gunmen in his house in the early hours of October 31.
Parading the suspects on Monday at the command’s headquarters, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Shina Tairu Olukolo, said the suspects were arrested by the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
He said the suspects, Mu’azu Adamu, alias Dabo, 27 of Alkaleri LGA, Bauchi state, Bodori Maifada, 25 of Balanga LGA and Wada Ahmadu, 26 of Yamaltu-Deba LGA of the Gombe state, all confessed to being members of the syndicate that kidnapped the nurse.
Olukolu said the suspects are helping the police will information to arrest three other members of the syndicate who were still at large.
The police commissioner said an AK47 rifle with 19 rounds ammunition and the sum of N200, 000 was recovered from the suspects.
