Detectives attached to the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a lawyer simply identified as Tolu Olaoye for alleged child battery.
The suspect who resides at No. 5 El Shaddai crescent near unique estate Baruwa, Ipaja, Lagos, was arrested at the weekend for incessant abuse of her house help, one Abigail Opebiyi,15.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi who confirmed the arrest said that the suspect was picked up based on information from members of the public who accused the suspect of being in the habit of attacking the young girl.
Edgal was moved with compassion on seeing the picture of the victim trending on the internet with a deep cut on little Miss Abigail’s forehead, which was inflicted on her by the said female lawyer Tolu Olaoye. He immediately ordered operatives of the command to go and rescue the victim and fish out the suspect.
It was gathered the CP’s order was carried out and the suspect arrested.
The suspect was interrogated at the Gender section of state police command.
Edgal said that the suspect would be charged to court on Monday.
