Religious, ethnic and community leaders have said that despite efforts of governments and security agencies to restore law and order, there have been secret killings in Plateau communities, especially in Miango, Barikin Ladi (Central Plateau) and Wase (in the southern part).

The leaders who included Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama of Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Abdullahi Usman of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) and Surajudden Soyoye of Nawairudden, as well as community leaders from Berom, Anaguta, Afizere, Igbo, Yoruba and south-south community, made the allegation in a communiqué after a consultative meeting at the Dialogue, Reconciliation and Peace Centre (DREP) in Jos yesterday.

Leaders of two of the organisations said they had latest incidents of secret killings of members and reported to security agencies which decided that the incidents should not be publicized to avoid unpleasant consequences, and urged the security agencies to find ways of preventing such killings.
