The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has urged Nigerian journalists to be friendly in reporting child’s right issues.

The organization made the called through its Chief of Communication Nigeria Country Office, Ms Doune Porter during the 19th National Conference of African Council for Communication Education (ACCE) held at the National Institute For Policy and Strategy Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, in Plateau state.

Ms Porter said that the media had the capacity to address issues affecting Nigeria’s children negatively, and emphasized that child-friendly reports could  tackle harmful traditional and religious practices against children.
