The Joint Military Task Force (JTF) yesterday killed four suspected cultists said to be terrorising residents of Ebubu Community in Eleme LGA of Rivers State. They were shot dead in Okigwe Road, Owerri, Imo State during an operation.

The cultists, including a kidnap kingpin, Joe Mba alias Mba Boy, according to the army, were killed during a gun battle at a hotel.

Mba Boy had refused to accept the amnesty programme offered by the state government, and had a large bounty on his head. Their bodies were paraded yesterday at the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt.

Spokesman of 6 Division, Col. Aminu Aliazu, said the suspects have been on the wanted list of the JTF.
