The Senate Leader and Chairman, SAIL Youth Empowerment Foundation, Dr.  Ahmad Lawan has donated N10 million to the victims of Nguru market fire disaster in Yobe State.

Senator Lawan said while inspecting the burnt market that the victims needed urgent support, lamenting, “Nguru market has had bitter taste of this inferno with untold hardship on the victims. It is my prayer that this is the last.” 

The Chairman, Nguru Market Traders Association, Alhaji Rabilu Alhassan, assured that the money would be distributed fairly among the victims to regain their lost wares.

“We have seen in the senate leader a reliable representative of the people of Yobe North senatorial zone,” he said.

Alhaji Usman Nguru, a trader who lost a shop to the fire, said the donation would contribute greatly to pursue their means of livelihood.

A tailor Musa kalamu, said, ‘If government, agencies and other philanthropists will come to our aid with speed like the senator, we will have little problem.”
