In an interview with Daily Trust, the Commander of the Commission, Dr Adamu Kasarawa said some of the victims were minors.

He said that the cases had reduced compared to the 157 cases recorded in 2016.

Kasarawa also accused some village heads of collecting bribes to conceal cases of rapes in their domain.

He blamed parents on the rising cases of rapes in the state, saying some of them were not mindful of the whereabouts of their wards.

"And some parents allow their daughters to be relating freely with their house maids who in some cases end up molesting them," he added

He revealed that the cases had been handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other Related Offences (NAPTIP) and the police for further action.

Kasarawa however advocated for more fund to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other Related Offences (NAPTIP).
