The Secretary to the Kogi State Government Mrs Ayoade Folashade Arike has advised youths in the state to embrace hard work and desist from the attitude of ‘get-rich-quick syndrome’ which she noted had led many youths into committing heinous crimes.

She gave the advice yesterday during an interaction with members of Course 26 of the National Defence College, who were on a study tour to the state to ascertain the factors militating against youth empowerment in the state.

The SSG told the delegation that the present government has initiated various empowerment programmes especially in the agricultural sector to keep the youths gainfully employed.

The team leader, Commodore Emmanuel Olatunji Beckley said the delegation was on a study tour to the state with focus on “Youth Empowerment and Implication for National Security”.
