Some people are calling for a decentralized police, but nobody is asking what I think are the right questions: What happened to the Nigeria Police Force? Why is it so weak and inefficient? How can we revitalize or rejuvenate the force? If we rightly accuse military intervention in our polity as one of the major factors responsible for the Nigeria Police Force’s helplessness, what can we say of it from 1999 to date?
Why not clamour for a reorganised, modernised, highly mobile, intelligence-driven, well-trained, highly motivated and mobilised, adequately equipped, well-funded, accountable and civil federal police for the wellbeing of the whole country? Why not call for preemptive and preventive policing instead of this reactionary and partisan policing? I want to predict one thing for sure that those clamouring for state police will be the first to cry out against it, just watch it.

The recent cash4votes scenario is redefining Nigeria’s presidential democracy to nairacracy. Do we tinker with the form of government or the type of democracy? This question will find its way to the restructuring agenda as the Nigerian electorate continues to monetize their PVCs and elections in Nigeria fail the democratic test.

Imo needs a real governor
There is no doubt today that Imo people are tired of the Okorocha government and need someone else with fresh ideas as governor in 2019. Imo will not remain a one man state and his family business. We want a new face as governor of the state, someone outside blood or marriage relationship with the governor, someone who will implement pro-masses policies as against the existing pro-rich pro-imperialist cum capitalist policies. We need not at this juncture say that the patience of the people is running out in the face of barefaced looting using fake projects as conduit pipes but we ask again, who is Uche Nwosu and in whose interest is his governorship project meant to serve? For now, all we saying is, NO THIRD TENURE for Okorocha, Mbanu! Never again!
