The Senator-elect for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Victor Umeh, has pledged to bring ingenuity and wealth of experience to bear during his expected 18 months stay in the senate.

Umeh, who was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after last Saturday’s senatorial rerun, also promised to support the leadership of the 8th Senate, as well as champion the cause of the less privileged during his tenure.

Speaking to newsmen in Awka yesterday, the lawmaker-elect said he was well aware that he had limited time to spend before the end of the 8th Senate, but assured that he would maximise the time to impact positively on his constituency.

“Lost time is lost. We look forward to the present and the future. I still have 18 months to work for my people. I have always said I am never limited with time.

“By the time I get there, I will do my utmost best to support the present leadership of the senate. I will try to be ingenious in making my own contribution to the good of my people and the entire Nigerians. 

“I will explore the possibility of receiving the needed attention from the leadership. They have to look at my constituency with pity for what has happened to us,” he added.
