Two persons whose names are yet to be revealed have been arrested for allegedly stealing 20 bags of cement at Tugan Maje village in Gwagwalada Area Council.

A resident of the area, Yusuf Yahaya, said the suspects allegedly burgled a cement shop at about 12:13a.m. last Friday morning, after the shop owner had closed.

He said the suspects destroyed the padlock and made away with the cement, saying the owner of the shop came the next day and discovered that his shop was burgled.

“The man went to report to the vigilantes in the area, and they started tracing the people involved and luckily they arrested them where they took the cement to sell, “ he said.

He said the man who bought the cement was also arrested and handed over to the police at Zuba division.

When contacted, the FCT police command spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manza, confirmed the incident, saying the matter was still under investigation.
