The Police in Katsina State says it has arrested six suspected cattle rustlers and recovered 400 cows in addition to 25 sheep.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Besan Gwama, said this at a news briefing on the arrest of the suspects on Monday in Katsina.
He said that the combined efforts of the police, the military and operatives of Department of Security Service (DSS) made the arrest possible.
“The police and other security agents initially arrested two persons with 100 cows in Batsari Local Government of the state.
“The security agents arrested the other four suspected rustlers with 300 cows in the Funtua Senatorial Zone.
“The security agents are aware that the cattle rustling theft has resurfaced in the southern part of the state” he said
Gwama called on the general public to assist security agents by providing useful information about criminal activities in the state. (NAN)
